The Courage Campaign is calling on
Daryl Issa (R-CA-49) to hold a hearing on the
connection between political hate speech and the Giffords shooting. Issa, you'll recall, is the Representative who promised
"a hearing a day" of the Obama administration. We need such a hearing, though Issa almost certainly won't hold one. Lucas O'Connor over at Calitics explains how the attempted assassination of Giffords reminded him of the
assassination of Harvey Milk and George Moscone.
Republicans won't take this seriously, though; they're still stuck in the "Loughner was a lone nut/possible liberal" twilight zone.
